Issue 55 June 2018

Life sometimes takes a turn for the surreal and fantastical, yet we still wedge deeper meaning in a bid for normality. This issue’s art – courtesy of Helena Pérez Garcia – taps into these themes via vibrant scenes. Their often natural settings mirror Word Life’s theme this month; once again showcasing pictures painted with words.

Our other featured interviews begin with Localcheck, in which the Cycling Without Age Trafford team tell us about their plans to counteract social isolation and loneliness, while Portico Quartet, Allysha Joy and Savvy are all on song in the music section.

Our reviews span the city, with venues from 3MT to Home, and Band on the Wall and Gorilla to wherever the grandmasters of surrealism, Sounds From The Other City, fancy plugging in amps.
